We’re thrilled to announce that construction has officially begun on the brand new, state-of-the-art library and ICT center in Atwima! Thanks to the generous funding from Ghana International Bank, this project is finally underway, bringing essential learning resources and digital opportunities directly to the community.
There was a brief delay due to necessary sewage works, but the wait is over! Construction materials have arrived, and the team is working hard to make this vision a reality.
Why is this project so important?
- Empowering Learners: This fantastic facility will serve a staggering number of people: 4,913 students and an incredible 21,982 community members! It will provide them with a wealth of essential learning resources, from books and educational materials to quiet study spaces. This is especially crucial in a region where many schools lack adequate resources, contributing to student dropouts. The library will bridge this gap and foster a love of learning for all ages.
- Bridging the Digital Divide: The new IT suite will be a game-changer for Atwima. It will offer everyone in the community, from students to job seekers, the chance to develop valuable digital skills. Whether it’s learning how to use a computer, mastering essential programs, or simply gaining valuable internet access, this IT suite will equip people with the tools they need to succeed in today’s digital world.
Convenient Location:
The library and ICT center will be located right next to the fire and police station, making it easily accessible for everyone in the surrounding areas. This central location ensures that this valuable resource is within reach for the entire community.
